What To Expect

Apply when it works for you.

There is no firm deadline to submit your application. However, we request that all applications be submitted (with all supplemental documents received) no later than one month before anticipated enrollment. Applications that are completed within 30 days of the start of the term may still be considered, but we will be unable to guarantee an admissions decision prior to the start of classes. Applications may be submitted up to one year in advance of anticipated enrollment.

There is a $40 application fee.

You can pay with a debit or credit card.

Hear back within 30 days.

Once we have all the documents, you’ll hear back in 30 days. Once all supplemental documents arrive (references, transcripts, background check, etc.) and an application is completed, it will be sent for review, and you will be notified of your admission decision within 30 days.

All potential students for our Master of Divinity or Master of Arts programs should have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the United States. You can find all our admissions requirements in our Academic Catalog.

Returning to Southeastern after a year or more?

If you have not been enrolled in classes for one full academic year (a fall and a spring semester), your account as a student becomes inactivated. Between 1 and 3 academic years (cutoff is 6 successive fall/spring semesters), you may reapply through the abbreviated Readmission process. If you have any questions about this process, please contact our Coordinator for Student Success at [email protected].

If you have not been in enrolled in classes (or started classes and dropped all of them) in longer than 3 academic years (6 successive fall/spring semesters), you will need to apply through our full application process as though you were applying for the first time. The Admissions Office will be able to reuse certain items that have been sent previously (i.e. transcripts), but others may need to be completed again.
